team [player]

How 'bout them Colts?

And them Saints?

Although I was cheering for Brett Favre to the end. But when I listened to Hartley say making that field goal in overtime, sending his team to the Superbowl, was a dream come true for him...I felt happy for his accomplishment. And for him.

I tend to cheer on individuals, and thus will cheer for their teams. And I will always cheer for the Mannings alongside my husband, which may clue you in to which team we will be rooting for in the Superbowl.

Well, enough about that. My whole reason for starting this post is to share the Walmart commercial that aired during both games yesterday. And both times I laughed myself to tears watching this. In fact, just now when I googled it and watched it on YouTube I laughed just as hard as I did yesterday.

So if you need a laugh...go here. [and go colts]

I realize I have not been nearly as dedicated to posting as I should be, and for this I am sorry. I offer my apologies to you if you are reading this.

...but in my defense, I am enjoying myself immensely.

(and I hope you all are too)

I'll post more randomness soon.

happily better after

If you enjoy before/after shots of projects out there as much as I'll definitely enjoy dropping by Better After once in awhile.

I find many of these projects very inspiring. And what's even better about Better After is there are usually always links to the original projects, which usually are accompanied by basic how-to's, which could come in handy for some of our own future projects.

One of my favorite projects I found on Better After was Kirsty's Kitchen Refab. And she tells you exactly how she does it...which I may be referencing sometime in the future.

go green

I'm sure you are just as aware as I am about the need to be more environmentally responsible. And we all know one small way we can do our part.

Reusable shopping bags

...which you may already have and use, so this is no news to you. But I had yet to make the change to reusable shopping bags. My reasons were silly, really. I was looking for that heavy-duty, yet affordable tote that I could maybe put a personal touch to. And I really didn't want to be a walking advertisement for any particular store. [See, silly] Months were going by, and I wasn't seeing anything I liked or could afford that fit my criteria.

Then I decided I didn't need to have that 'ideal' at this time. So I kept my eyes open for an affordable, yet nice looking bag. And while I was in Utah for the holiday, I saw these bags at a local grocery store. [Although it took me two trips eyeing them before I decided to purchase them] Totally worth the dollar a piece I spent, and I've only used them once. They're easier to carry than paper and hold more than plastic. Plus I felt good inside.

Check out for more info, color options, and for a retailer request form (that is, if youd like to purchase something similar at a retailer near you).

I've heard rumors that you could make your own powdered sugar. Of course, I never had the need to make any powdered sugar, as I usually had it on hand. But one Sunday afternoon, I decided to make two recipes, both of which required powdered sugar, unfortunately I only had enough powdered sugar to complete one of the recipes. And I just wouldn't run to the store and get some, being Sunday and all.

Bit of a dilemma, really. But then I thought I'd look into this I googled how to make powdered sugar. And chuckled at some of the how to's that popped up as google was trying to guess what I was getting at.

And then after the results popped up, I made me some powder.
true story.

I only tell you this in case you are ever in a similar sitch. [yeah, I just shortened situation like can do things like that these days, afterall it is 2010.]

It's already 2010...

I knew this. I even stayed up to celebrate the welcoming of the new year, but we're already 5 days in to this brand spankin' new year!

5 whole days.

Happy [belated] new years to you!
